RISK CARDS
ENGAGEMENT TOOL

I was commissioned by the European Commission to create 40 illustrations for their new engagement tool, a card game exploring 40 potential upcoming political risks for Europe. I designed one original illustration for each card and a cover, using vibrant colours and riso textures. The illustrations will be used by policy makers in participatory workshops.

Complex political subjects into colourful understandable illustrations

I paid a particular attention to translating complex and theoretical concepts into understandable images, using narrative metaphors and universal references/symbols.

Following the client’s request, I also created a cheerful colour palette to counterbalance the gravity of the concepts.

Some of the risks identified may be politically controversial, so I have chosen a graphic representation that is as neutral as possible.
